These terms cover anything you pay for by card on this site. Private journeys, expeditions and festivals are covered by the proposal and booking terms you receive from your host.
Confirmed within one working day. Free cancellation up to 48 hours before.
Your payment holds the date and start time you chose. A named host confirms the guide, driver and pick-up point by email and WhatsApp within one working day. If we cannot run the day you chose (weather, road closure, park closure) we offer the next available date or a full refund, your choice.
Cancel free of charge up to 48 hours before the start time in Ulaanbaatar. Inside 48 hours the payment is not refundable, because the guide and driver are already committed, but we will always try to move you to another date. No-shows are charged in full.
Prices include your private guide, driver, vehicle, park and entry fees, bottled water and the meals described. They exclude anything marked as optional, personal spending and gratuities, which are never expected.
Deposits
A journey design deposit or a Naadam priority deposit is credited in full against your final invoice. If we cannot propose a journey that suits you within 30 days, it is refunded in full.
Gift cards
Valid for three years from purchase, usable against any Rara Avis or RAHM Stays product, transferable, not redeemable for cash. Delivered by email within one working day.
Nights at Big Sky Lodge
Paid nights are confirmed against the lodge calendar within one working day. If the dates are not available we offer alternatives or a full refund. Cancellation free up to 5 days before arrival.
Trees and keepsakes
Tree contributions are planted in the next planting season and certified by email; they are not refundable once certified. Keepsakes are made to order in Ulaanbaatar and shipped with tracking within four weeks; damaged items are replaced.
Stripe, in US dollars
Cards are processed by Stripe on behalf of Rara Avis International Limited (Hong Kong). Your card details never reach us. Refunds go back to the card used and take 5 to 10 banking days.
Write to your host
Change of date, hotel, party size or flight: WhatsApp +976 8050 7231 or reply to your order email. Changes more than 48 hours before the start are free.
