What To Expect
The Gobi desert is a must-see destination in Mongolia. The tour usually lasts for 5-7 days and includes visits to the Yol Valley, Khongor Sand Dunes, and Bayanzag Flaming Cliffs.

What You'll Do
Day 1: Ulaanbaatar to South Gobi
The tour usually starts in Ulaanbaatar, where you will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to the airport for a flight to the South Gobi. Upon arrival, you will be met by your tour guide and transferred to your ger camp.
Day 2: Yol Valley National Park
After breakfast, you will drive to Yol Valley National Park, which is named after the vulture-like Lammergeier bird that lives in the area. The park features a narrow canyon with a small stream and glacier, which stays frozen for most of the year.
In the afternoon, you can enjoy a hike through the park or visit a local nomadic family to learn about their way of life.
Day 3: Khongor Sand Dunes
Today you will drive to the Khongor Sand Dunes, which are some of the largest sand dunes in Mongolia, reaching up to 300 meters in height. You can climb to the top of the dunes for stunning panoramic views and enjoy a camel ride along the dunes.
In the evening, you can watch a beautiful sunset over the dunes.
Day 4: Bayanzag (Flaming Cliffs)
Today, you will visit Bayanzag, another area known for its dinosaur fossils and red sandstone cliffs. You can explore the area on foot and see the dinosaur fossils and eggs that have been preserved in the area for millions of years.
In the evening, you can enjoy a traditional Mongolian barbecue dinner at the ger camp.
Day 5: South Gobi to Ulaanbaatar
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for a flight back to Ulaanbaatar. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel or the airport for your departure flight.
