What You'll Do

Day 1:

Visit the Turkish Memorial Complex in Ulaanbaatar, which was built to commemorate the Turkish soldiers who fought and died in Mongolia during World War I.

Visit the Gandantegchinlen Monastery, one of the largest and most important Buddhist monasteries in Mongolia.

Explore the Sukhbaatar Square, the central square of Ulaanbaatar and home to many important government buildings and monuments.

Day 2:

Visit the ruins of the Turkish fortress of Khara Khorum, which was built by the Seljuk Turks during their rule in the 12th and 13th centuries. The fortress was an important center of trade and religion, and its ruins offer a glimpse into the past.

Visit the ruins of Karakorum Balgas, another Turkish fortress built by the Seljuk Turks in the 13th century. The fortress was the capital of the Mongol Empire during the reign of Ogedei Khan.

Visit the Erdene Zuu Monastery, a Buddhist monastery that was built on the site of Karakorum City in the 16th century.

Day 3:

Visit the Orkhon Valley Cultural Landscape, which was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2004 for its importance to the history of the Turks and the Mongols. The site includes the ruins of several Turkish fortresses, as well as inscriptions and carvings from the Göktürks, an ancient Turkic people.

Visit the Tuvkhun Monastery, a Buddhist monastery that was founded in the 17th century by Zanabazar, a prominent Mongolian religious figure.

Explore the Kharkhorin market, a bustling bazaar that sells traditional Mongolian goods and handicrafts.

Day 4:

Visit Khoshoo Tsaidam, a historical site that is believed to be the tomb of Bilge Khan, a 8th-century leader of the Göktürk Khaganate. The site features an impressive stone stele with inscriptions in the Old Turkic script.

Enjoy a camel ride through the Sand Dune and experience the unique landscape of this beautiful region.
