By booking a Rara Avis journey you agree to the terms below. Last updated April 2026.
A booking is confirmed when Rara Avis receives the 25% deposit and issues a written confirmation. Until both happen, no binding contract exists and dates are not held.
25% deposit at confirmation. 25% due six weeks before departure. 50% balance due two weeks before arrival. All amounts quoted in USD.
Full refund of deposit up to 180 days before travel. 50% transferable between 30 and 180 days. Non-refundable within 30 days of travel. Travel insurance with cancellation cover is required for every booking.
Rara Avis maintains public liability insurance for all in-country operations. Guests are responsible for their own travel and medical insurance. Activity-specific risks are disclosed before travel and acknowledged in writing.
In the event of weather, political, or public health disruption that prevents travel, Rara Avis works with guests to reschedule or credit forward. Refund terms for force majeure events are covered separately in your booking confirmation.
These terms are governed by the laws of Mongolia. Disputes are resolved through good-faith negotiation first, then the courts of Ulaanbaatar if necessary.
